Amazing software that works well and answers customers needs is just a part of a company’s success. Besides the product, the people of a company play a critical role in reaching business goals.
Today, we'd like to introduce to you another member of our team: Sharath Patali.
Q: Hi Sharath, can you tell us a bit about yourself?
A: Hello, my name is Sharath Patali and I’m the Chief Software Architect and Operations Manager India at NUITEQ®. I live in Bangalore, India, with my wife and our pets. I have been working with NUITEQ for 8 years, after obtaining my software engineering degree from Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU).
Q: How about being NUITEQ’s Chief Software Architect? What's the best part of it, and what would you consider your least favorite activity in your role?
A: I’m lucky to have a chance to play multiple roles at NUITEQ.
First and foremost as an engineer I help the development team with the construction and design of the software that we build. I also lead the Android-related efforts here at NUITEQ. My other main responsibility is to manage the operations and the excellent team here in India. I take care of administration and other related tasks. Furthermore, at times I help our customers as a support engineer.
The best part of my job is, of course, working with my talented colleagues. It’s a great opportunity to keep on learning new things from them.
I must admit that it’s hard to think of a negative point but if I must say that, it must be that we don’t meet that often.
Q: What motivates you in doing your job?
A: An ideal workplace needs a good environment for nurturing talent, and NUITEQ has been exactly that for all these years. It has always given me opportunities to grow and work on new technologies. My colleagues are the reason why I enjoy working at NUITEQ. Every one of them is passionate about technology and we’re all like-minded. I learn new things from them every day. I am also proud of what we built over the years. Seeing students and customers enjoy and use our software drives me to build new things.
Q: How about your free time? What do you enjoy doing outside office hours?
A: My free time is mostly occupied with reading up on technology and advancements in physics. I try to keep myself abreast with all the latest advancements in Computer Science. I also love reading books and playing games on my console.
I love spending time with my family. One of my most favorite things to do every week is to walk in the park with my wife Sneha and our puppy Tux. My wife rescues street dogs here in India in her free time, so I help her with that too.
Furthermore, I love tinkering with electronics. So I spend some of my holidays working on Arduino, sensors, and servos. Infinite amount of fun, like lego for adults :)
