I was invited by our close Korean Partner AVA Vision, to visit Seoul to attend the Korea International Broadcast, Audio & lighting Equipment Show (KOBA) together with them. The event took place from the 14th till the 17th of June. I visited their booth on the 17th, to see how well they are doing in the Korean market. And very well they did...

Thumbs up for multitouch technology. Sales Manager KJ Kim and I happy in front of a large 32 touch points AVA Vision multi-touch screen running a customized version of Snowflake with content for Hyundai.

Thin and slick looking multi-touch table by AVA Vision
One of the multi-touch tables had customized content loaded inside Snowflake. The original Bugs game graphics were easily replaced with graphics of the number one ice cream brand in Korea to create that unique brand experience. Customers can easily create their own branded Snowflake solution simply by replacing images, backgrounds, logos, audio, videos, pdf files, 3d models and more.
Multi-touch is the attention grabber and the crowd puller

Panasonic using AVA Vision's multi-touch technology on their massive 103" display running Snowflake (Pong competition)
AVA Vision's multi-touch technology combined with NUITEQ's Snowflake used by Panasonic on their booth. Again, multi-touch as attention grabber and crowd puller.
One of AVA Vision's customers, the number one ice cream brand in Korea is using multi-touch technology with customized content in Snowflake in one of their boutiques. We visited the boutique to see how people interact with multi-touch technology...well actually we went there to test the ice cream.
Well to be honest, its just awesome to see your product being used in a public retail space in Korea
A mother is about to pull her daughter away from the multi-touch table. "Now its time to go home."
At the end of the day, AVA Vision's CEO JJ Park is cleaning out the table and kicking my arse in a game of pool
And Korea wouldn't be Korea without great food, so below an overview of my meals (Korean and Japanese) the last few days (including blowfish, fly fish eggs, squid, shrimp, sea weed, tuna and many other things). Some of it was actually still trying to crawl away when being served, trying to avoid their destiny. I quickly ended that illusion.
These were the ones that tried to crawl away
Fried shrimp, awesome!
These tasted surprisingly good
Quite a spicy soup, instant tear
Several raw fresh fish types, Japanese style
After my Korea trip I can honestly say that I'm a great cultural experience richer thanks to my friends of AVA Vision who showed me great Korean hospitality.

Now all there is left, is a day of touristing and shopping.
